100% Recycled Plastic Bottle Information
Touch 100% Recycled Plastic Bottles (rPET) are made from 100% recycled PET plastic. Next to our biodegradable bottle, our rPET bottle is undoubtedly one of the most conscious and environmentally responsible bottles on the market today. 

Touch rPET bottles are made from FDA approved 100% Recycled PET Class 1 plastic which means that there is zero virgin plastic in our entire bottle. Rigorous testing is done to ensure the safety and performance of the bottle for FDA approval. The bottle is extremely clear and will have slight color variances depending upon the production batch due to its 100% recycled content.

In 2008, the gross recycling rate for the US was just 27%, or about 1.45 billion lbs. Most of this plastic is bottle containers made from PET plastic. PET is a clear polymer used mostly for product packaging and container manufacturing.  PET is very strong, durable and most importantly, can be recycled over and over.

PET bottles that get recycled are first ground down, washed and separated from the cap and the label. The washed PET flakes go through a process called heat extrusion that removes contaminants from the recycled PET. The result is a consistent, clean, safe and much more environmentally friendly package. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), 2/3 less energy is required to manufacture products made out of recyclable plastic. Other studies have shown that the production of recycled plastic requires 2/3 less of sulphur dioxide, 50% less of nitrous oxide, and almost 90% less water usage.  This means there is a huge reduction in the carbon footprint associated with 100% rPET bottles as opposed to standard PET bottles.
We searched high and low to find the greenest, most eco-friendly way to package and distribute Touch Sparkling Spring Water.   While our biodegradable bottle is our greenest choice,  in markets where we are not yet able to offer our biodegradable bottle, due to legislation and recycling regulations, our customers can enjoy Touch in the next most conscious bottle on the market today….100% Recycled Plastic ( rPET)!
